RUSADA Deputy Director General Margarita Pakhnotskaya held the third meeting of the Council of Europe Anti-Doping Convention Working Group on the whistleblowers’ protection in the field of anti-doping.
The meeting was attended by experts from Azerbaijan, Germany, Poland, Russia, France, Qatar, and representatives of WADA, AIU, GRECO and the Council of Europe Department of sports conventions.
Meeting agenda focused on current mechanisms for work with whistleblowers, examples of national legislation aimed at whistleblowers’ protection in various fields, experience of the World Anti-Doping Agency and possible measures to be taken at the national and international levels.

The experts discussed existing mechanisms and documents regulating activities of various state, sports, anti-doping and other organizations, covering the protection of confidential information, its processing, cooperation with law enforcement agencies at the national and international levels, and possible interaction options to develop an effective mechanism for protecting informants in the field of sports and anti-doping.
The working group on whistleblowers’ protection of the Council of Europe Anti-Doping Convention Monitoring group, chaired by Margarita Pakhnotskaya, was established in May 2019.
