On April 16, 2024, over 30 anti-doping experts from the Russian Sports Federation (OSF) gathered at the Central Committee of Moskomsport in Moscow. Experts with years of experience and new coordinators came together to discuss important issues.
Veronika Loginova, the Director General of RUSADA, delivered a welcome speech: "Thanks to the hard work of those in charge of anti-doping at the Russian sports federation, we are able to successfully implement the anti-doping program in Russia. The number of adverse analytical finding is gradually decreasing, which is a positive sign. We are grateful to our anti-doping community for their support and commitment to clean sports, and for working together to educate athletes about anti-doping."
The event consisted of two parts: practical workshops led by anti-doping coordinators, experts from the fields of sports medicine, psychology, and law, as well as the awarding of RUSADA federations ratingsto the leaders of based on their performance in 2023.
The workshops covered topics such as organizing anti-doping events, preventing violations, practical aspects of implementing anti-doping programs, and the cooperation between the OSF and international and regional sports federations. Among the speakers were:
- Nadrova Diana from the Russian Athletics Federation
- Ekaterina Varfolomeeva and Anna Naumova from the Russian Ice Hockey Federation
- Oksana Makarova from the Russian Biathlon Union
- Petrova Nadezhda from the Russian Taekwondo Union
- Eduard Bezuglov and Albina Pikunova from the Russian Football Union
- Mikhail Golovko from the Russian Freestyle Federation
The anti-doping coordinators also attended a master class on the psychology of anti-doping, presented by sports psychologist Victoria Georgiadi, MSc from the Laboratory of Psychology and Psychophysiology of Sports at FSBI SPbNIIFK. During the breaks, the participants were introduced to the latest cases of adverse analytical finding and received handouts containing RUSADA's suggestions for changes to the OSF's anti-doping rating system.
