The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation has announced a week of prevention of drug use.
ATTENTION
Drugs destroy health. Drug use leads to loss of objective perception, overestimation of one's own strengths and abilities. Therefore, athletes who use drugs have a greatly increased risk of injury.
RUSADA emphasizes that samples collected as part of anti-doping testing are tested for the presence of cannabis, cocaine, and other stimulants and narcotics (Classes S6, S7, and S8 on the WADA Prohibited List).
The presence of a prohibited substance in a sample taken during the in-competition period is an anti-doping rule violation, regardless of when the substance was consumed. This type of violation can result in a multi-year disqualification penalty.
In case of a positive test for narcotics, RUSADA will notify law enforcement authorities. Furthermore, according to a court decision, the Russian Administrative Code provides for penalties in the form of fines or administrative arrest for violations of Part 1 of Article 6.9. This may also include registration at a narcotics treatment facility.
RUSADA is firmly against drug use! We suggest that all coaches and parents of athletes take advantage of simple recommendationsfrom the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs on the prevention of drug use by children.
