The Russian Junior Figure Skating Championships start in Saransk today. On February 5, participants in the championship and their parents attended seminars on anti-doping regulations.

RUSADA, in collaboration with the Figure Skating Federation, organized a series of education events during which athletes learned about the doping control process in detail and refreshed their knowledge of anti-doping through a quiz.

Parents of figure skaters were also invited to a special seminar. They studied cases from international practice, including actual cases of violations of anti-doping rules in figure skating.

The Director General of RUSADA has commented on the plans for implementing anti-doping measures in 2025: “This year we will pay special attention to the inner circle of young athletes. From the point of view of organizing work to prevent violations, this year will be the "year of parent meetings." RUSADA will proactively invite parents to seminars and webinars to focus on their role in shaping the values of sport among young athletes. The Federation has accepted our proposal and has already revised the plan of educational anti-doping activities for 2025. The plan now includes a comprehensive approach to preventive work with all targeted audiences. We will definitely discuss the role of parents in preventing violations among young athletes at the Russian Forum in Tambov in April this year. It will be dedicated to the implementation of anti-doping measures in youth sports."
