Relatives of athletes are becoming more involved in cases of doping violations.
Athletes' explanations about taking prohibited substances demonstrate the high involvement of their relatives in this process. Therefore, RUSADA recommends that athletes inform their closest associates about prohibited substances in sports and the sanctions for violating anti-doping regulations.
In 2025, RUSADA plans to hold a series of educational events for parents of young athletes. Short webinars on anti-doping will help parents learn the basic information young athletes need to know. A selection of publications on an anti-doping "database" to help parents:
- Meldonium, which is banned in sports, can be called in different ways
- Doping control and nasal sprays: what is important for athletes to know
- Parents and children are a clean sports team
- Briefly about anti-doping
- Anti-doping navigator
Remember the principle of strict responsibility: an athlete is responsible for everything that enters his body.
