On February 28 in Tatarstan Republic at the regional Ministry of sports RUSADA in cooperation with the Ministry of sports of Russia and with the support of the Ministry of sports of the Tatarstan Republic held the training for law enforcement agencies representatives "Fight against doping in sport: regulatory framework and law enforcement practice".
Raif Rishadovich Vafin, acting first Deputy Minister of sports of the Tatarstan Republic, head of the high-level sports development Department, addressed the participants with a welcome speech, noting the importance of anti-doping activities development in the region.
RUSADA Deputy Director General Margarita Pakhnotskaya made an introductory presentation where she noted that this third workshop is held in Kazan as the Republic has a great potential in the field of sports development. Since interaction with law enforcement agencies is a relatively new area of RUSADA activity, Margarita Pakhnotskaya spoke about the system of international and national legislation in the field of anti-doping and about RUSADA activities. Specialist of RUSADA Investigations Department Kristina Kucheeva and head of the RUSADA Investigations Department Leonid Ivanov spoke about RUSADA's interaction with sports federations and regional authorities in the field of physical culture and sports and about investigation of possible anti-doping rule violations.
Head of anti-doping and interagency cooperation department of science and education department of the Ministry of sports of Russia Veronika Loginova spoke about the legal framework of the Russian Federation that regulates issues of countering doping in sports.
A report on measures to combat the use of prohibited substances and/or methods were made by the Deputy chief of Department of activities to limit the circulation of new psychoactive substances and anti-doping control for coordination of legal drug trafficking and the prevention of administrative offenses in the sphere of IDT MDDC of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Kirill Kuznetsov.
