On February 4, 2020 at RUSADA office the agency’s top management held a working meeting with a State Duma deputy, member of the Committee on physical culture, sports, tourism and youth affairs Svishchev Dmitry Alexandrovich and representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
During the meeting were discussed application of articles 230.1 and 230.2 of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation and the possibility to increase liability under these articles.
In addition, participants exchanged views on the necessary legislative initiatives in connection with the new World Anti-Doping Code 2021 and the Russian anti-doping rules entry into force.
Article 230.1 of the criminal code of the Russian Federation Inducing an athlete to use substances and (or) methods prohibited for use in sports, which entered into force on 22.11.2016, and article 230.2 Using substances and (or) methods prohibited for use in sports, which entered into force on 03.11.2016.
