On April 1, 2024, the revised International Standard for Code Compliance by Signatories (ISCCS) comes into effect.

01.04
2024

The ISCCS sets out the relevant framework and procedures for ensuring Code Compliance by Signatories, including:

  • the roles, responsibilities, and procedures of the different bodies involved in WADA’s compliance monitoring function;
  • the support and assistance that WADA will offer to Signatories in their efforts to comply with the Code and the International Standards;
  • the opportunities for monitoring Signatories' compliance with their obligations under the Code and International Standards;
  • the opportunities and support that WADA will offer to Signatories to correct Non-Conformities before any formal action is taken;
  • and the processes to be followed if a Signatory fails to correct the Non-Conformities with regard to Signatory Consequences, Reinstatement and the opportunity to appeal decisions at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The main changes to the ISCCS were adopted with the aim of bringing it into line with the Code and the International Education Standard, as well as to expand or clarify certain provisions of the ISCCS, taking into account the already established WADA practices and procedures. In addition, several new concepts and associated procedures have been added (“Prioritization Policy” and “Watchlist Procedure”).

A comprehensive list of the revisions can be found in the Summary of Changes.
