At the invitation of the Forum organizers - the Russian Ice Hockey Federation, RUSADA management spoke at the panel discussion "Medicine in Ice Hockey: Where Pharmacology Ends and Doping Begins".
RUSADA Director General Veronika Loginova answered the questions of the Forum participants: she gave a brief overview of the statistics of the violations types and the most frequently detected violations related to the use of prohibited substances and supplements, and also answered questions about the most famous cases of anti-doping rule violations in hockey.
Victoria Barinova, Deputy Director General, devoted her presentation to the planning and organization of the doping control process. Testing of athletes is the most important and best known activity of anti-doping organizations. Highlighting the principles of RUSADA's work, such as operational independence, unpredictability of testing and strict compliance with international standards, is crucial for the formation of an anti-doping culture in the sporting community.
Alexey Repetyuk, Chief Specialist of the Therapeutic Use of Prohibited Substances Department, held an online information session dedicated to the Prohibited List 2024, the basic principles of working with the Prohibited List and the current aspects of the procedure for obtaining therapeutic use exemptions.
