Therapeutic Use Exemption

In line with the International Standard for TUE, athletes have the right to use Prohibited substances and Methods contained in the Prohibited List only when they are granted a TUE by ADO`s TUE Committee.

Athletes included into International Federation Registered Testing Pool or participating at International Events may be granted a TUE in accordance with the IF rules.

RUSADA provides an opportunity to apply for a TUE for all athletes under  RUSADA`s jurisdiction who have documented medical evidence justifying the use of prohibited substance or method.

To be granted a TUE athletes should submit the following documentation to  RUSADA:

- Completed TUE Application Form

- Complete medical file or comprehensive medical history

- Results of all relevant examinations, laboratory investigations and image studies, providing clinical justifications for the necessity to use Prohibited Substances or

Methods (for example, X-ray image, cardiogram, blood and urine analysis, a report of spirometry, bronchial provocation test etc/)
Applications with all relevant documentation are considered within thirty (30) days, thus athletes should submit applications thirty days prior to the date they need to have a TUE.

Applications with all relevant documentation shall be forwarded by fax (fax number : (495)-788-40-60) or by post (4 Smolenski Boulevard, Russia, Moscow 119034)

In the event of glucocorticosteroids used via intraarticular, periarticular, peritendinous, epidural, intradermal injections and inhaled route, athletes should file the declaration of Use through ADAMS. When an athlete does not have access to ADAMS they shall forward the following information to  RUSADA:

1. Athlete`s first and second name, date of birth, citizenship, address (including post code) contact phone number(s).

2. Sport, discipline, name of Federation which RPT they are included

3. Diagnosis, name of medication used for treatment, dosage, route and frequency

4. Exact name, specialty, contact information (including address, telephone number(s)
