French rider tested positive for 12 prohibited substances
A 19-year-old French amateur cyclist has been banned for three years after testing positive for a dozen prohibited substances, a record number in an individual case.
The revealed doper is Alexandre Dougnier, a third category rider with the Parisian club AC Boulogne-Billancourt. His urine sample was taken following his participation last May in a nocturne of Aubervilliers. The ban imposed on Dougnier by the Fédération Française de Cyclisme (FFC) will expire on 17 August 2014.
According to the FFC, the 12 prohibited substances discovered in the sample were 3-Hydroxystanozolol, 16b-Hydroxystanozolol, 4b-Hydroxystanozolol, 4-Methylhexanamine, Prednisone, Prednisolone, Oxandrolone, epi-Oxandrolone, Tuaminoheptane, Triamcinolone Acetonide, 6b-Hydroxymethandienone and 17-epi-Methandienone.
